Rats have an incredible ability to learn tricks and behaviors- especially with positive reinforcement (like cheese). Agility
Rats are also considerably easier on your wallet than an Agility Dog; in addition to being able to set up the course on your
kitchen table. From the information I've read, bucks are easier to train than does, but a doe would be able to run the course
faster than the majority of cheese-laden bucks.
Yes, we really do agility with rats. I'd like to start up timed agility trials for rats here locally. I will be experimenting
with clicker-training. On this page I intend to include pictures of the equipment, and pictures of my rats on the equipment.
If you are interested in having agility trials with your rats, contact me and I'll get you going on making your own set of
equipment. (hint: start saving tp cardboard rolls!).
